SEC and Emerging Markets' Regulators Join Forces

Brazil, China, South Africa, and South Korea attended the first Emerging Markets Conclave, hosted by the SEC, to collaborate on the growing securities markets' challenges. Discussion focused on producing an effective regulatory scheme while simultaneously advancing capital development. "The exchange of views enhances our understanding of market circumstances around the world and assists us in developing techniques and best practices for promoting effective cross-border market oversight to better protect investors and facilitate efficient capital formation," says Ethiopis Tafara, director of the SEC's Office of International Affairs.
